Firefox Search Plugins

As a small contribution to the Firefox community I sometimes write or update search plugins for the Firefox browser. You can find some of the ones I have written or updated on this page. Click on a link in the list below to install a search provider plugin in your browser.

If you are looking for a plugin for a specific site that is not listed here, check-out the Mycroft search provider plugin database, it contains thousands of plugins for many different sites and from many different contributors. You can also create a site search plugin for your site in a few simple steps.

There are two kinds of search plugins currently available:

1. OpenSearch plugins (supported by Firefox since version 2, and Internet Explorer since version 7 - although Internet Explorer only supports those search plugins that use the get method). These search plugins don't have sidebar support.
2. Sherlock plugins (supported by Firefox and SeaMonkey). These search plugins may have sidebar support.
3. Add-ons Mozilla listed plugins. These plugins are also listed on Add-ons Mozilla.

Mozilla and Firefox:

1. Foxysearch.org (Foxysearch.org) - Searches sites in the Mozilla ecosystem (Google Custom Search).
2. Foxysearch.org (Foxysearch.org) - as above but for SeaMonkey with sidebar support.
3. Mozilla.com (mozilla.com) - Site Search
4. MozillaZine (mozillazine.org) - Site Search
5. Mozilla Community Wiki (mozilla.wikia.com) - Wikia Search

Music:

1. Google MP3 Search (Google) - Searches for MP3 files.
2. Magnatune Search (Magnatune) - Searches on Magnatune.
3. Magnatune Stream Search (Magnatune) - Searches on Magnatune for stream users.
4. Magnatune Download Search (Magnatune) - Searches on Magnatune for download users.

Internet:

1. Copyscape (copyscape.com) - Searches for pages with copied content. Uses post method - works with Firefox only.
2. Namesecure (www.namesecure.com) - Domain Search - no sidebar support

Estonia:

1. Google Custom Search - Estonia (7is7.com/otto/estonia/search) - Searches sites related to Estonia (Google Custom Search).
2. DMOZ Estonia (dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Estonia/) - Open Directory Project Estonia Category Search

Dictionaries (Estonian):

1. Aare: ET->EN en (aare.pri.ee) - Estonian-English
2. Aare: EN->ET en (aare.pri.ee) - English-Estonian

1. Countdown (www.7is7.com/otto/countdclock.html) - Countdown Clock - Starts a countdown to the date that you entered in the "search box".

Bitcoin:

1. Block Explorer (blockexplorer.com) - Searches the Bitcoin blockchain via blockexplorer.com. Uses post method - works with Firefox only.
2. blockchain.info (blockchain.info) - Searches the Bitcoin blockchain via blockchain.info.

Misc:

1. RDW License Plate Search (https://www.rdw.nl/Ovi/Paginas/Default.aspx) - RDW (Netherlands) license plate search.
