Kadriorg palace was built in the early 18th century, several years after the Great Northern War - during which Imperial Russia gained control over Estonia from Sweden. It was built by Peter the Great for his Wife Catherine I (who became the first woman to rule Imperial Russia).
Kadriorg litterally means "Catherine's valey", the palace, park, in fact this whole area of Tallinn is now referred to as Kadriorg.
These photos offer views of Kadriorg palace and the palace gardens.
Kadriorg palace is now part of the Estonian Art museum. The main building of the Art museum is also located in Kadriorg, not far from the palace. It's known as KUMU.
