Paldiski Baas

In spite of regaining independence in 1991, Russia refused to pull its troops out of Estonia until August 1994. In the first photo below you can see the Russian flag fly over the headquarters of the former Paldiski naval base for nuclear submarines.

Some photos from inside the former Soviet naval base headquarters in Paldiski. When Russian troops finally left in August 1994 they removed and destroyed as much as they could, leaving a completely trashed building behind.
